I'm Thankful for Family

Thanksgiving was wonderful this year. We had a fun filled weekend with family. To bad I only have one picture(of which I stole) of the whole weekend.
We started the morning off with running the Mesa 10k Turkey Trot with some of my siblings. Porter, Hayley, Braden, and myself ran it. Jackie bumbed out last minute and David is still recovering from shoulder surgery. I ran it the fastest I've done yet!
We then had dinner at Gigi's with all the Nielson's. Then spent time with some family over at Gma & Gpa Harmon's house.
Friday we had the annual Nielson bike ride. Luckily David's shoulder was sore because my legs were dying from running the day before so we did a short bike ride. Jackie and I did a little shopping afterwards, I wouldn't say I did Black Friday Shopping because I didn't get any smokin deals or fight anyone for anything! That night we got together with the Harmon side and played some slaughter ball.
Saturday me and David put up or Christmas decorations which makes our home fill so joyful and happy. Later that night we had a dinner for David's cousin, Chris, who is leaving on his mission in December.
We had a great weekend and loved spending time with family!

Halloween/Boston Trip/David's Surgery

Halloween
I've decided that I love holidays more for the decorating and fun things to bake than for the dressing up, presents, and parties. It is so fun either making the crafts or deciding which things to buy!
My sister in law is the craft queen!! She had a craft day and we made these way cute blocks, along with other crafts. On the back of the blocks it has "Merry Christmas" so we get a 2 in 1 deal! She said everyone that saw the blocks would say "Do they really have the exact number of letters?" haha she would say "No I left out the T in Christmas!" I'll have to show a pic for Christmas time when it comes.
Last year my sister, Jackie, wanted to make this ghost that my mom had made back in the day. David has named him Willy!
And then there is Frank. We got him from David's mom one year as a gift. We sure love Frank being our guard at the door!
One day I was at Joann's and saw this little plastic thing that you melt candy melts in and it comes out in these skeleton bones. It was more for the look not the taste!.. Well the brownies were good!

BostonTrip
My cousin, Charisse, has recently moved to Boston. Our family is super close to theirs and we decided we need to take a girls trip to visit her! Gina, Amber, Hayley, Mom, Me, and Jackie waiting for our flight to leave!
The first day we got there we went to Salem to look at the Salem Witch Trail stuff.
Mom, Amber, Jax, and Carson
The whole gang eating some lunch.
Jackie had to pose with all the witch statues. I'm pretty sure I almost got hit by a car taking this picture.
Random pic but I love the houses there and I love this beautiful tree in the left corner. This is the street my cousin lives on.

New York Day Trip
We first got there and were welcomed by the most craziest cab driver ever! We fit all 7 of us in a little cab and the driver kept saying "No worries! No worries!" because we kept laughing that we were about to die!
I believe this is by the Rockafella Center. It as the all of the states flags. I took this one because there is Arizona and California flag by each other. (California for Tyler being on is mission.)
We stopped in a little shop kind of like a gas station but smaller and this cat was just chillin in there and wouldn't move when anyone walked by.
Anyone seen this dog before?! Love this show and I got a T-shirt! I guess its cool in New York for animals to chill in your stores.
Lots of people told us we HAD to get here. WAY good food and the most yummiest frozen hot chocolate!! Well worth anyone's time.
The bag I'm holding is a hint to the above picture of the dog! We took the Subway to most places. Pretty cool ... and gross. Don't ask me why I thought it was cool to hold out my thumb.
Boston Temple. Way pretty.
Well we went and did the Freedom Trail. Way cool just wished we had more time to be there! Here is little Carson(cousin's child) that definitely kept us entertained! I'm gonna miss this little guy!

David's Surgery
Do you remember back when David dislocated his shoulder on his birthday?! Well he ended up having to get surgery. So the day after I got back home he had surgery. Here he is right before going under!
I had to take a picture of how he basically slept and still sleeps. It is too uncomfortable for him to be in a normal bed. Those wondering what the tube thing is up to his arm, it is an ice machine that holds cold ice water that pumps cold water up to his arm which has been really nice to have.
Two days after his surgery he was finally able to take off the bandages. Really gross.. looked like diaper in real life.

Then I had to take a picture of his sweet outfit! The doctor told him to bring a button up shirt because it would be easiest to put on after the surgery. Well all the button up shirts he has is his nice ones for work so I went and found him this lovely 3XL(had to make sure it was way big with his bandages) shirt at Walmart for $5. Don't worry as I was driving to the hospital I noticed he was going to be in style because I saw two other men wearing this type of shirt!... Now don't be mistaken about the socks... they are not tights. They help him get the blood flowing.

I guess I should also say that they surgery went very well. He has already started physical therapy. The only bummer part is he still has to be in the sling for 5 more weeks!!

Two Years Baaaaby!!

This last weekend we celebrated our
TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
I just found this picture on the computer! It makes me laugh!

Since we are poor college students, we just spent the weekend doing what we do best. Nothing!

I love that we get to be with each other for eternity!

Happy Birthday....?

My sweet husband turn 24 on Monday!!

Saturday I had wrapped his gifts and put them on the table. The little excited boy he is couldn't wait till his actual BIG day so Sunday afternoon he opened his gifts.

He's really been wanting grill utensils. All we've had is a dinky fork for him to use so he got a nice set of grill utensils. Along with some shorts that don't fit him so we had to take them back but will have to find new ones! And one of his favorite snacks, Golden Oreos. Just in case you look at the card and only read "SEXY STUNNING". The card said "I was going to have a sexy, stunning, incredible shaped woman jump out of your Birthday Cake.... (on the inside) but I didn't want to get frosting in my hair." I thought it fitted David pretty well.

All that David really wanted for his birthday was to go to the lake. His uncle went as well so this picture is from their boat. I stole a pic from Tana!
Everyone had a good time ... although someone did get hurt... the birthday boy :(
This picture shows the jump David was doing when is arm dislocated. We got him on the boat and his dad pulled it back into place. Then I was wake boarding after him and he lifted his arm again and it popped right back out. So we got a little worried and told him he couldn't move his arm at all!

Here is the poor boy just laying there not moving a bit. He went to the doctor but he has to go to another doctor to get xrays so we find out tomorrow if anything serious happened.

Afterwards David opened gifts and we ate cake and ice cream. Tyler helped Grandma pick out a cake and so he had to help put candles in the cake.

Happy Birthday
DAVID
I LOVE YOU

They all are sooo special and have there own little unique personalities. I have learned so much working with them all. I won't continue to do it this upcoming school year but I will seriously miss these kids so much!!

Zoo Field Trip

All of us with our Autism Awareness shirts!

I'll have to blog some other time about my exciting adventures coming up!

And just so you guys don't forget about the husband.. David is still doing great and working his booty off with school, work, his business, AND dealing with a crazy wife! I don't know how he does it but he does... he's still AMAZING!!

well ENJOY your SUMMER!!!!!

Live a Little

Well nothing to exciting has been happening with us! At the beginning of March I was finally finished with Shepherd Cheer. I choreographed there State routines. I think I’ll always have a love for cheer no matter how crazy it sometimes can be.

Quick side story.. a couple weeks ago I was listening to the radio and the discussion topic was "Is cheerleading a sport?" so of course my ears perk up... So there was a guy and a girl that were radio hosts, I don't know their names but let’s say the girl radio host's name was Sue just so people get the story. These two radio hosts were kinda bashing on cheerleaders. You could tell that Sue didn't think cheer was a sport. Well then a lady called in. She went off basically saying that cheerleading is a sport and challenged anyone to come do one of their practices and see how they can handle it. She basically told her opinion and then Sue came in and said "Well the cheerleaders that cheered for me in my sports didn't do a thing." Then the lady says "Well I don't know what small town you came from" Then Sue butts in and says "what did you say?" then the lady says "for all I know you could be from a small town" Then Sue said actually I was in the Olympics with 6 gold medals." Then the lady says "Oh and you were so good that that’s why you’re on the radio now huh" Then the radio hosts basically just wouldn't let the lady speak anymore and put her off the air... Anyways I thought the whole conversation was hilarious to listen to. I didn't do the story justice. I just liked how the lady that called in was totally giving it to Sue.. which I kinda had to agree with the lady that called in.

My opinion is that cheer can be a sport SOMETIMES. There are some teams out there that can't do a thing and just cheer on the sidelines which is totally okay with me but I don't think that’s a sport. But there are teams out there that work the butts off, that compete in different competitions, and at times can probably kick even a football player’s booty! Anyways that’s my random gibber jabber!
Here's a picture with the girls... some are missing though!

My supporters! David wasn't able to make it this here. Last year he would text me the dirty details of how the other teams against them did! Some could say that's pretty weird of him but I loved it so I basically made these to come! Which I dearly appreciated!

...

Recently we had a friend getting married up in Snowflake. Since David's great grandma has a ranch in Shumway we decided we would take a much needed little trip and stay up there for the weekend.

We drove up through Globe. The reason we came up through Globe was because David wanted to visit the Burger House really bad so we stopped at got green chili burros.. supposedly they are to die for!

The next day we had fun just roaming around! This place is an awesome view on his great gma's land!

David's favorite toy! We basically drove all day which got us good sunburns!

We visited the temple in Snowflake before the reception!

Last year we did a session here and we want to take pictures at all the temple's we go to and we never got our picture in front of this one so I made sure to get it!!
...
We both have been super busy with school. David is taking a big schedule so he can graduate by May next year! I've been trying to pass these dang hard classes so I can start my program in the Fall. Besides being super busy with school, we both have our own little things on the side.

I've been quilting. If you remember I learned how at my family reunion back in December.

This is the first one I did! It recently has been quilted (I call it the swirly lines) now I'm just finishing up on the binding!

This quilt is super cool because at the reunion we call picked out a fabric and got enough that each person that brought fabric got a 5 x 5 piece of everyone else's! We all make a quilt and see how different they are gonna turn out! I recently finished making the top part of this quilt. I'll post pics when they are both finished!

When David isn't at his full-time job or in one of this 5 classes at school, he's putting all of this time and energy into his business he is starting!

Right now the business consists of residential window cleaning. If you're interested give him a call and he'll give you a quote. (480) 788-TIER

Other than all that... SUMMER break is COMING SOON!!!

Happy Late V-Day!!

Yes I know that February has already past but I want to post not only to show off how cute my husband is but just because sadly this is the closest thing I have to a journal!

This year we said absolutely no gifts for Valentine's Day. BUT my husband has to out do himself even though he followed the rules!

During my lunch break I usually go to my parent since it two minutes from work. I was on the phone with David when I left work and he's telling me made up excuses why he has lunch at this time but I had no idea he was on my side of town. Well I come to the corner where the Poston Seminary building is and find this!

"Jamie if you Love David Go Straight"

Then I come to this one.. "Happy Valentine's Day Jamie ->"

So I keep following these embarrassing signs..."If Your hoot Go <-"

"Almost There"

When I turn the corner I find this guy in the field!

haha isn't he just cute!?

He had lunch waiting for me which I enjoyed very much!

David is the greatest! He definitely puts up with all my drama, emotional break downs, craziness and the list goes on and on! I seriously don't know how he does it.. (I can barely stand myself)

BUT thats why I LOVE HIM!!!(and many other reasons too!)

We Are Family...

...was this year's theme for the Fred and Norma Arnett Family Reunion!! All that attended was just my dad's brothers and sisters which are known as "The Originals" and their families! When it comes to this group ... you gotta plan BIG!!
Thursday, December 30, 2010
The boys got up real early(the day that was freezing!) and played a game of golf.
(David is now addicted to golf - in fact that is what he's doing at this moment while i'm blogging)

The boys won the award for the most "snowmans". David won the award for being with the team that needs lessons(somethin like that). My dad won the award for "best dress", since he was decked out in Mountain View attire.
While the boys were out golfing, the girls got together and learned how to make quilts!! (I'm now addicted too but I told myself I couldn't work on it until I was done doing choreographing Shepherds Routine)

Jackie, David and Myself were in charge of "Minute To Win It" games at every meal. This was the older group trying to keep 3 balloons up for a minute!

We had Spud Races!

Our spud car! We definitely didn't win with our double decker and 3 wheeler!

"Music In My Bag"

We all were in different groups and had to make up a dance. Here's a little video I made with all of them. Its not the best quality because it just from a camera!

Friday, December 31, 2010

Friday morning after breakfast we were put into teams and had "Family Olympics"! We had to come up with a team name and a team cheer. The Arnett's are pretty competitive so you could just imagine how it all went down! I think there were about 8 different groups and each event was by one of "The Originals" and their Spouse.

The team I was on.. The Tigers!

The team David was on... The Bananas!

Can't have a family party without Uncle Steve's Train!

Me and Jackie were in charge of a Fashion Show with our grannie's clothes! We did this after dinner and had some of the cousins and 2nd cousin's join! It was definitely a hit!
Some of the outfits!
We had few outfits of our Grandpa Fred's. This picture my dad is walking down the catwalk with Grandpa's rob on!

Oh but just look whats underneath! My Granny made these shorts for my grandpa and somehow my dad has ended up with them!

Me and Jackie had goofy outfits on so we went down the catwalk together! Jackie is wearing my Granny's clown outfit she'd wear on Halloween. I'm wearing her MC Hammer pants that she wore doing a dance with her sisters some time ago!

"Musical Chairs"

or should I say Dancing Chairs! We had to dance while playing musical chairs! It was so much fun and Fred was on the microphone and if he saw someone dancing he'd give them "a pass"! That means if they didn't find a chair in the round that they got "a pass" then they got to stay in the game!

Here is a video of the little kids playing! Wait 10 seconds in and see how crazy some can get!
(I'm just going to brag for a little bit... I won the Adult group!.. but I had to put up a dang good dancing fight!)

We all had a blast! I'm grateful for my family and the joy they bring to me!
(not the best quality but it shows how many of us..roughly 200)

Until 2013!!
